The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson prevailed to garner 1st place at the 2011 IFBB FIBO Power Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Essen, Germany. Fighting his way into 2nd place was IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel. IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar was placed in the 3rd position. IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson took 4th place and IFBB Pro Michael Kefalianos landed in 5th place. The Top 3 qualify to compete at the 2011 Olympia (September 16).

The "So What?": The Top 5 had already qualified for the 2011 Olympia at contests held prior to the German FIBO, so 6th place IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz and 7th place IFBB Pro Tarek Elsetouhi could have used a big bump to gain higher slots for invites to the big show in Las Vegas. It was a tight battle between IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson and IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel, as they literally jockeyed for position with light nudging during the lineup on stage. A number of people felt Rockel could have surpassed Jackson, because the former Mr. Olympia was not at his 100% absolute best.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Ironically, many bodybuilders would trade their souls for Jackson's "not quite best" to be their own best. It was a hard-fought war for the top spot. Jackson needed it. Rockel wanted it.
