ANDREW OYE'S image The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson prevailed to garner 1st place at the 2011 IFBB FIBO Pro Bodybuilding Championships at the FIBO Power Expo in Essen, Germany. Fighting his way into 2nd place was IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel. IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar was placed in the 3rd position. IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson (powerlifter and IFBB World's Strongest Bodybuilder contestant) took 4th place, and IFBB Pro Michael Kefalianos landed in 5th place.

The remaining field: IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz (6th), IFBB Pro Tarek Elsetouhi (7th), IFBB Pro Essa Obaid (8th), IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski (9th), IFBB Pro Thomas Benagli (10th), IFBB Pro Oleg Emelianov (11th), IFBB Pro Alexandre Nataf (12th), IFBB Pro Mario Van Steenberghe (13th), IFBB Pro Cvetko Stojmenovski (14th), IFBB Pro Martin Kjellstrom (15th), IFBB Pro Dainius Barzinskas (16th), and IFBB Pro Jorge Barrios Sanchez (17th).

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the Top 3 IFBB Pro athletes at the FIBO Pro Bodybuilding Championships earn Olympia qualifications to challenge 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas (September 16). The Top 5 had already qualified for the 2011 Olympia Championships at contests held prior to the FIBO Expo, so their success in Germany essentially shut the window of opportunity for the remaining competitors to gain higher slots for invites to the "Super Bowl of Bodybuilding" in Nevada.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: It was a tight battle between 2008 Mr. Olympia Dexter Jackson and Germany's own Ronny Rockel, as they literally jockeyed for position with light nudging while in the lineup on stage. A number of people felt Rockel could have surpassed Jackson, because supposedly the veteran (a winner of 13 pro contests, three of those at the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships) was not at his "100% absolute best." Ironically, many bodybuilders would trade their souls for Jackson's "not quite best" to be their own best. It was a hard-fought war for the top spot. Rockel wanted it. Jackson needed it...and got it
