ANDREW OYE'S image The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro David Henry returned from a military-duty hiatus and declared a 1st place victory in the 212 Division at the 2012 Dallas Pro Bodybuilding Championships. At the Europa Super Show in Texas, IFBB Pro Tricky Jackson, who took 3rd in this contest last year, rose to 2nd place. IFBB Pro William Bonac bowed in 3rd place. IFBB Pro Derik Farnsworth went from 5th place last year to 4th place this year, swapping spots with IFBB Pro Marvin Ward, who was 4th last year and fell to 5th place this year.

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown (September 29) in Las Vegas to face reigning Olympia Showdown champion IFBB Pro Kevin English. This event saw the pro debuts of William Bonac and (brother of IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2009 Arnold Classic Amateur contest winner IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar) IFBB Pro Quincy Winklaar, who landed in 9th place in Dallas.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Ironically, many question the ability of 212 (formerly 202, i.e., smaller) Division competitors to go toe-to-toe with the big guys in the Open Division. But what does it mean when former Open Class athletes don't crack the Top 10 in a 212 Class contest (like IFBB Pro Oliver Adzievski and IFBB Pro Wendell Floyd in Dallas)?
