The Item: Special Appearances, Pro Promoters
The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes made appearances at various bodybuilding and fitness events from east coast to west coast, both as guest and hosts. The latest roundup includes three Mr. Olympia titleholders.
Over the weekend, 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson hosted his 5th Annual NPC Dexter Jackson Classic Championships in Jacksonville, FL. Meanwhile, 6-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dorian Yates hosted his 1st Annual NPC Dorian Yates Classic in Austin, TX.
The "So What?": Guest posers at the Dexter Jackson Classic included IFBB Pro Michael Liberatore and IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, who, as reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," is a week away from competing at the Tampa Pro. Competitors prepped by IFBB Pro Don Long competed at Jackson's contest, and IFBB Pro Lee Banks was spotted in the crowd.
IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Champion and Texas local, IFBB Pro Branch Warren showed up at Dorian Yates' contest in Austin. Four-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler made an appearance at fitness event in San Diego, where IFBB Pro Derik Farnsworth did some guest posing. The previous weekend, IFBB Pro Jason Huh guest-posed at the NPC Sunset Classic Championships in Florida.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: Good to see promoters take the form of the sport's highest titleholders, providing opportunities for competitors who aspire to walk in their shoes..
