The Item: Career Updates, Publishing Contract Signings

The Scoop: Recently Announced: IFBB Pro Jose Raymond joins Team MD, which also recently signed IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi. IFBB Pro Lionel Beyeke signs an exclusive pub deal with Weider.

The "So What?": A week and a half ago, Jose Raymond won the 202 Division at the New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships, where Lionel Beyeke made an impression on those in attendance who feel he should have placed a spot higher than his 4th place award in the Open Division. An IFBB Pro League rookie, 30-year-old Lionel Beyeke finished in 6th place at the 2010 Phoenix Pro Bodybuilding Championships before wowing the crowd in NYC this year.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Currently residing in France, Beyeke is prepping for the upcoming Toronto Pro Bodybuilding Championships (June 18), which may be his last chance to shine this year since he reportedly intends to skip the 2011 Olympia in Las Vegas (September 16).
