IFBB PRO image The Item: Special Appearances

The Scoop: Recently Reported: This month, IFBB Pro League athletes made guest-posing appearances at various events across North America. Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath and IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo were featured guests onstage at the 2011 NPC Texas State Bodybuilding Championships (October 15). IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad, IFBB Pro Evan Centopani and IFBB Pro Franck McGrath guest-posed at Canada's first Fouad Abiad Open Bodybuilding Championships (October 8) in Windsor, Ontario. IFBB Pro Branch Warren appeared at the 2011 Natural Northern USA Bodybuilding Championships in Ohio (October 1).

The "So What?": As previously reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" column, all of the aforementioned athletes experienced major milestones in 2011. Heath earned his first Olympia title. Warren suffered a serious injury that pulled him out of Olympia contention. Following a one-year hiatus, Centopani grabbed his second pro win at the inaugural Flex Pro and welcomed a newborn, which led him to skip the Olympia Weekend. Kuclo earned his pro card at the USA Championships. McGrath made a comeback, following a serious car collision in 2010, to place at the Tampa Pro, qualifying to compete at the Olympia for the first time.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: After competing at the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic, Fouad Abiad suffered an injury that cut his 2011 contest season short, but it was cool that, in the same year, he could offer competition opportunities to other athletes by launching his own contest
