IFBB CHICAGO PRO BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS ANNOUNCES 212 COMPETITORS ROSTER

Posted in: Articles by ProSource, Gossip, Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report
By Andrew Oye | Jul 6, 2012

IFBB CHICAGO image The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Competitors List

The Scoop: Just Announced: Promoters of the Chicago Pro just posted the list of athletes that will compete at the 2012 IFBB Chicago Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Illinois (July 7).

212 Class Competitors:
IFBB Pro Ahmad Ahmad
IFBB Pro Jimmy Canyon
IFBB Pro Jamal Ahmed Elmadawy
IFBB Pro Derik Farnsworth
IFBB Pro Hennie Kotze
IFBB Pro Antonio Morales Vidal
IFBB Pro Bola Ojex
IFBB Pro Panexce Pierre
IFBB Pro Roxio Tapia

The "So What?": This is Chicago's first pro bodybuilding contest in about 18 years, the last being the 1994 Chicago Pro Invitational. This is the sixth 212 Division contest so far this season, leaving only three more opportunities for athletes who weigh 212 lbs. and under to qualify for the Olympia Weekend (whereas the Open Division has four more contests before "The O.") . On a side note, the contest's website lists IFBB Pro Alexandre Nataf as a 212 contestant; however, the League's official roster lists him among the Open Division competitors.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: It looks like Farnsworth, who has recently spent much of his time in powerlifting endeavors, has turned his focus back to bodybuilding competition. Despite being one of the shortest pros on the circuit, he could present a challenge to the rest of the lineup in Chicago.
