ANDREW OYE'S image The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop:
Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro K. Greene won the Open Division at the 2013 IFBB Prague Pro Bodybuilding Championships. The 2013 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Champion and 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson took 2nd place. Mr. "Quadrasaurus" and 2-time Arnold Class Winner, IFBB Pro Branch Warren claimed 3rd place. IFBB Pro Fred Smalls nabbed 4th place and IFBB Pro William Bonac grabbed 5th place.

The remaining field: IFBB Pro Toney Freeman (6th), IFBB Pro Lionel Beyeke (7th), IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz (8th), 2012 Arnold Amateur Championships Super-Heavyweight Winner IFBB Pro Dalibor Hajek (9th), IFBB Pro Clarence DeVis (10th), IFBB Pro Yuri Leonov (11th), IFBB Pro Martin Kjellstrom (12th), IFBB Pro Alexey Lesukov (13th), IFBB Pro Jeno Kiss (14th), IFBB Pro Tomas Bures (15th), IFBB Pro Marion Van Steenberghe (16th), IFBB Pro Robert Burneika (16th).

The "So What?":
As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," in 2012, IFBB professional bodybuilding competition returned to the Czech Republic after 14 years of absence. The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 6 Points, 3rd - 5 Points, 4th - 4 Points, 5th - 3 Points) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend to face reigning Mr. Olympia Phil Heath. The Prague Pro Championships is a Tier 2 contest, i.e., one of few to award more points per placing than Tier 3 and Tier 4 contests. IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf won the 2012 Prague Championships.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The 2013 Prague Pro redeems Greene because the last four times he competed -- the Arnold Sports Festival's 2013 Arnold Classic Europe, 2013 Olympia Weekend, 2012 Sheru Classic, and 2012 Olympia Weekend -- he took 2nd place. But, of course, IFBB Pro Phil Heath, the man who beat Greene in all of the aforementioned contests was not in Prague to overshadow him. Yet, what does it mean when a 212 Division competitor (William Bonac) who hadn't competed all year jumps into the Open Class and places above an 11-year veteran Open Division competitor (Toney Freeman) known for his symmetrical physique? Does it mean the sole returning 2012 Prague Open-Class Top-5 finisher, who got bumped out of the Top 5 in 2013, should rethink his strategy of year-round competing? (Freeman competed in a whopping seven contests in 2013.)
