The Item: Special Appearances
The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes made appearances at various bodybuilding, physique and fitness events as promoters, onstage and offstage guests. The latest roundup includes a Mr. Olympia winner and two sensations with Mr. O-caliber physiques.
The "So What?": Over the weekend, 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler hosted his annual NPC Jay Cutler Baltimore Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Maryland. Handling emcee duties was retired IFBB Pro Shawn Ray (a 1994 Mr. O. runner-up and a 1991 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic winner). Cutler was an impromptu guest poser at the event, where IFBB Pro Fred Smalls and Hall of Fame IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone were spotted.
At the NPC New Jersey State Bodybuilding Championships, IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan and IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden guest-posed, along with IFBB Pro Jose Raymond and IFBB Pro Juan Morel.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: As it has been reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Shawn Rhoden is the latest sensation that Cedric McMillan was a little more than a year ago. Both made splashes on the pro bodybuilding scene with "X-frame," classically proportioned physiques that some are saying (or hoping) will become the standard of future Mr. Olympia title winners - relevant, given that next month's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas is quickly approaching, and reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath will be defending his title.
