The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes brand-launching pros and brand-new pros.

The "So What?": Over the weekend, reigning 3-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath, who just announced the launch of his sports nutrition label, was the headlining guest-poser at the NPC Northeast Summer Classic Bodybuilding Championships in New York. Farther south, 2-time Arnold Classic Champ IFBB Pro Branch Warren hosted his annual NPC Branch Warren Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Spring, Texas, where IFBB Pro Fred Smalls was the featured guest-poser and retired IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo was spotted in the crowd. A week prior, in Teaneck, New Jersey, the NPC Team Universe Championships issued IFBB Pro card qualifications to new IFBB Pro R.D. Caldwell (Open Middleweight Class and Overall), new IFBB Pro Rob Youells (35+ Heavyweight Class and Overall), new IFBB Pro Orlando Maldonado (35+ Lightweight), new IFBB Pro Derek Upshaw (40+ Heavyweight Class and Overall) and new IFBB Pro Matt Russell (40+ Lightweight).

IFBB Pro Luis Santa took the stage at the NPC Colorado State Bodybuilding Championships in Denver. The guest list at the NPC Louisiana State Bodybuilding Championships included 2011 Arnold Classic Europe winner IFBB Pro Victor Martinez and 2-time Olympia Figure Champion IFBB Pro Erin Stern (a former University of Florida All-American collegiate high jumper), who also conducted a seminar.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series' next league-sanctioned event is the IFBB Golden State Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Sacramento (August 2), followed by the Tampa Pro Bodybuilding Championships. The word is athletes like IFBB Pro Essa Obaid and IFBB Pro An Nguyen are prepping for the contest in California -- one of two remaining, pre-Olympia competitions for the year. (The Dubai Pro, Prague Pro, and Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Spain will be held after Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend.)
