In a recent pilot study, it was reported that exercise-trained subjects who took 3g of MSM daily for a month reported reduced fatigue during a bout of muscle damaging exercise performed to failure. The preliminary data also suggested that MSM supplementation could decrease muscle soreness and increase antioxidant status during recovery. Although this was a pilot study, the results suggest that MSM may do a lot more than we once suspected. So if you are currently taking MSM for joint health and train regularly, you may be getting more bang for your buck!
