The Item: IFBB Pro League News, Contest Schedule, Andrew Oye's Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Announced: The IFBB Pro League adds the IFBB Masters Pro Bodybuilding Championships to the 2014 IFBB Pro League contest schedule. Promoter of the NPC Masters National Bodybuilding Championships, Gary Udit announced to attendees at the 2013 NPC Masters Nationals that a Masters pro contest will be held in conjunction with the 2014 IFBB North American Championships in Pittsburgh, PA. The event will include competitions in the following divisions: Men's Bodybuilding, Women's Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini.

The "So What?":
It was made clear that the Masters Pro Championships will not be a reincarnation of the IFBB Pro World Masters Championships (won by IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson), which as reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," was re-launched by another promoter who also revived the Masters Olympia (also won by IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships Winner Dexter Jackson). These contests draw competitors like IFBB Pro Toney Freeman, IFBB Pro Dennis James, IFBB Pro Ed Nunn, IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel, IFBB Pro Michael Kefalianos, IFBB Pro Darrem Charles, IFBB Pro Bill Wilmore, IFBB Pro Troy Alves, IFBB Pro Andy Haman, IFBB Pro Francis Benfatto, and others.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: This announcement is an even bigger plus for IFBB Pro League competitors who earn IFBB Pro cards at the Masters level and need more opportunities to exercise their new pro status. Some Masters competitors don't get as much of the spotlight in the Open Division, which has been swiftly adding more IFBB-sanctioned contests to bolster the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (like the recently announced IFBB Slovakia Pro Bodybuilding Championships: and IFBB Asian Pro Bodybuilding Championships).
