The Item: IFBB Pro League News, Contest Schedule, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Announced: After several years of planning, the IFBB Pro League is set to stage the first-ever IFBB-sanctioned professional bodybuilding contest in China, adding yet another event to the IFBB Pro League contest schedule. The inaugural IFBB Asian Pro Bodybuilding Championships debuts on October 25, 2014, at the Zhengzhou International Conference Center in Zhengzhou.

The "So What?": According to the official press release: "The IFBB Professional League's mission is to expand to all parts of the globe and this latest event will bring the sport to a whole new world of fans who will witness firsthand the greatest professional bodybuilders battling on stage. When all is said and done, one will go down in history as the inaugural Asian Pro Bodybuilding winner and the first professional bodybuilder to be crowned as a champion in one of the world's earliest civilizations, China." The contest is open to all IFBB Pro League athletes and bolsters the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System.

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
The IFBB Pro League is certainly executing its worldwide expansion mission.  In addition to existing events in Germany, Australia, Canada, Spain, and Britain, as reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," additions to the IFBB Pro League calendar of events in recent years have included contests in Finland, Czech Republic, and India, as well as the Arnold Sports Festival's new IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Europe (Madrid) and in Brasil (Rio de Janeiro).
