The "So What?":
Contenders competed in a battery of intense events, including the Viking Press, Squat Lift, Super Yoke, Deadlift, Overhead Lift, Loading Race, Truck Pull, Fingals Fingers, Keg Toss, Frame Carry, Atlas Stones and Circus Medley.
With three WSM titles (2009, 2010, 2012), Lithuanian Zydrunas Savickas' record includes 3-time Europe's Strongest Man, 6-time Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Strongman Winner, 5-time Lithuania's Strongest Man and 2012 Arnold Classic Europe Winner. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the defending champion wanted to match the four wins of Jon-Pall Sigmarsson and Magnus Ver Magnusson to then aim for the record of 5-time WSM Mariusz Pudzianowski. But 6' 8", 420-pound Brian Shaw (who Bill Kazmaier dubbed, "the evolution of strongman") overcame last year's biceps injury to reclaim the World's Strongest Man title he had won in 2011, the year he also won the Arnold Strongman Classic at IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger's Arnold Sports Festival (where IFBB Pro
Branch Warren won the Arnold Classic Bodybuilding Championships).
