This is the second consecutive Olympia 212 Showdown title for James Lewis. Troy Alves, an Open Division veteran, made his debut in the Olympia 212 Showdown, as well as Al-Haddad. Three-time Showdown champ Kevin English made a comeback after skipping the 2012 contest. Andrew Oye's Verdict:
The 212 Division's final Top 3 lineup of Flex Lewis, David Henry and Kevin English was not surprising, since they are all past winners of the Olympia Showdown, the latter two back to when it was dubbed the Olympia 202 Showdown. As I noted in my Olympia preview edition of "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the number of 212 contenders qualified via the Olympia Qualification Series shrunk due to fewer 212 Class contests on the IFBB Pro schedule in 2013. Perhaps the addition of the 212 Division to the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Championships at the 2014 Arnold Sports Festival will turn the tide.
