The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop:
Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Troy Alves won 1st place at the 2013 IFBB Pro Europa Show of Champions in Orlando, FL. IFBB Pro Raul Carrasco Jimenez (who placed 3rd in this contest in 2012) took 2nd place this year, marking his highest pro-contest placing and swapping places with IFBB Pro Marco Rivera who took placed 3rd in 2013 (after taking 2nd place last year in his pro debut). IFBB Pro Thomas Benagli finished in 4th place and IFBB Pro Milton Holloway, Jr., in 5th place.

The "So What?":
As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to eligibility to compete at the 2013 Olympia 212 Showdown (September 26-29) in Las Vegas to face reigning Olympia 212 Showdown Champion IFBB Pro Flex Lewis. The 2012 Orlando Pro Bodybuilding Championships was won by IFBB Pro Al Auguste.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: I recently reported that Troy Alves (a veteran professional competitor in the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness) made the choice to exit the Open Division for the lightweight 212 Division. So far, it seems to be a wise move since his last showings in the Open Division include a 9th place finish at the 2012 Masters Olympia in Miami, Florida (won by 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson) and not placing at the 2012 Europa SuperShow in Dallas, Texas (won by IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, winner of the Arnold Sports Festival's 2012 European IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships  in Madrid, Spain).
