The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop:
Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo conquered the competition as the 1st place winner of the Open Division at the 2013 IFBB Dallas Pro Bodybuilding Championships, Europa Super Show in Texas (won by 2012 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Europe Champ IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden in 2012). IFBB Pro Essa Obaid was declared the 2nd place runner-up. IFBB Pro Lionel Beyeke secured the 3rd place spot. IFBB Pro Mohammad Ali Bannout landed in 4th place, followed by IFBB Pro Cory Mathews in 5th place.

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 26-29) in Las Vegas to face reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. Other notes: Trailing 6th place finisher IFBB Pro Drew Jemmott in Dallas, the post-injury comeback of IFBB Pro Zack Khan netted him 7th place, followed by IFBB Pro Aliaksei Shabunia from Belarus in 8th place, IFBB Pro Jojo Ntiforo in 9th place and IFBB Pro Tomas Bures in 10th place. Former Open Division bodybuilder IFBB Pro Capriese Murray took 4th place in the Men's Physique Division. Also part of the Europa Super Show Expo: pro MMA fights, powerlifting, arm wrestling, tae kwon do, wrestling, grappling, NPC amateur bodybuilding, NASKA karate, and the Europa War Games (CrossFit).

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
There was much hubbub among the bodybuilding fandom that Essa Obaid should have taken the crown over Texas homeboy Steve Kuclo at the Dallas Pro Championships. In essence, it boiled down to a battle of grainy, ripped conditioning in Obaid versus powerful mass in Kuclo, and the contest judges picked their favored asset that day to give Kuclo the first win of his professional bodybuilding career.
