Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" latest roundup includes a kickboxer and a comeback kid.
The "So What?":
On April 27, IFBB Pro Robert Burneika heads back to the ring at MMA Attack 3 in Poland, as the 34-year-old, 5'9", 250-pound bodybuilder-turned-fighter tries to amp-up his fledgling MMA career started in 2012 against what some called a less than formidable opponent.
An '80s -'90s era bodybuilder (who competed in Vince McMahon's WBF, recruited by IFBB Pro Tom Platz), retired IFBB Pro Vince Comerford announced a possible comeback to the stage in the 212 Class. The 5'3", 52-year-old Arizona resident's plans are encouraged by local IFBB Pro Troy Alves.
4 - time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler announced his new sports nutrition venture. On the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series circuit: Ready to redeem himself after his IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic placing, IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan preps for the FIBO (April 13), which moved to Cologne, Germany this year, while IFBB Pro Evan Centopani says he will compete in the Tampa Pro Championships in August.
Andrew Oye's Verdict:
I champion multi-sport athletes (per my MUSCLE INK Magazine article "Game Changers," where I profiled fellow Polish 2-sport athlete MMA fighter and World's Strongest Man WSM Mariusz Pudzianowski). Hopefully Robert Burneika, the one they call "Hardkorowy Koksu," faces more skilled competition for a true challenge in forthcoming fights.
