The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes history-making Arnold Classic champions and the reigning Olympia champion.

The "So What? ": Over the weekend, 3-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath (who last competed at and won the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival's Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid, Spain) was the headlining guest-poser at the NPC Phil Heath Classic in Houston, Texas, where IFBB Athletes Representative, contest emcee, and retired IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo was spotted mixing with the crowd. IFBB Pro Evan Centopani guest-posed at the IFBB New Zealand Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Auckland (won by IFBB Pro Jose Raymond). The East Coast contingent of IFBB Pro Victor Martinez (first-ever Arnold Classic Europe winner in 2011), IFBB Pro Jon Delarosa, IFBB Pro Marco Rivera, IFBB Pro Juan Morel and IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino (who just re-signed with his sports-nutrition sponsor) made an appearance at a sports-nutrition shop's one-year anniversary event in New York.

Last week, IFBB Pro Brandon Curry (first-ever Arnold Classic Brasil/Brazil winner in 2013), 2-time Arnold Classic winner IFBB Pro K. Greene and rookie IFBB Pro Kevin Jordan performed guest-posing duties at the NPC Midwest/IFBB St. Louis Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Missouri. While retired IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari (first-ever IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships winner in 1989) was on an Australian tour promoting his newly released book, IFBB Pro Flex Lewis (first-ever Arnold Classic 212 Division contest winner in 2014) took the guest-posing stage at the IFBB Australian Pro Grand Prix in Melbourne (won by IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, the 2012 Arnold Classic Europe winner who battled 2014 Arnold Classic Champ IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf for the American title two weeks ago).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Like Phil Heath, as reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," more pros with upcoming contests include IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Jay Cutler and IFBB Pro Dennis James. On another note, (following news of IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar's hospitalization for a motorcycle accident) IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay (a.k.a. "Big Ramy") was recently sidelined by illness. Some speculated it might hinder his prep for the upcoming New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships; however, his prep coach Dennis James says, "On behalf of Big Ramy, I would like to apologize to all his Hungarian fans and friends, that he won't be able to make it to Budapest on March 21st and 22nd, due to a severe chest infection. He will not cancel his trip. He will only postpone it to June 13th and 14th. The doctors have him on antibiotics and cortisone at this time and advised him not to travel at all for at least another 10 days." The implication is that Elssbiay will be up-and-running soon, which is a relief to fans expecting him at upcoming appearances, IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contests, and Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas.
