The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" latest roundup includes a double Mr. O. winner and a double Arnold Classic winner.

The "So What?":
Over the weekend, 2-time IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Champ (2011 and 2012)  IFBB Pro Branch Warren was a guest poser at the NPC Midwest Championships in St. Louis, where retired IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo was the emcee. This was Warren's first onstage physique (not competitive) appearance in 2013. Though he didn't compete, Warren did appear at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival two weeks ago with all the past Arnold Classic champions (including 2013 winner IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, along with IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler, IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari, IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone, IFBB Pro Shawn Ray, IFBB Pro Vince Taylor, IFBB Pro Michael Francois, IFBB Pro Victor Martinez and more).

Current MUSCLE INK Magazine cover athlete and reigning 2-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath hosted the first annual NPC Phil Heath Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Houston, TX. Heath guest-posed at his own event, previewing the physique he is prepping for the 2013 Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas in September. Meanwhile, fresh off a 2nd place showing at the Australian Grand Prix Championships (an IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contest), IFBB Pro Toney Freeman was overseas as the onstage guest at the IFBB New Zealand Pro/Am Championships in Takapuna, Aukland.

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
Congrats to Phil Heath for promoting an event to give amateurs of the sport a chance at being rewarded, especially amidst his recent announcement about his wife's health concerns.
