The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar won the Open Division of the 2014 IFBB Chicago Pro Bodybuilding Championships. IFBB Pro Jojo Ntiforo nabbed 2nd place. Jumping a spot from last year, IFBB Pro Essa Obaid claimed 3rd place. IFBB Pro An Nguyen took 4th place. IFBB Pro Akim Williams finished in 5th place.

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 18-21) in Las Vegas to challenge reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. Making pro debuts after earning IFBB Pro cards in 2012, IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championships winner IFBB Pro Dan Decker finished in 8th place, and NPC National Bodybuilding Championships winner IFBB Pro Brian Yersky landed in 15th place -- not quite as high as last year's pro debut of rising rookie IFBB Pro Justin Compton, who finished in 5th place at the 2013 Chicago Pro.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Roelly Winklaar did not carry as much mass into Illinois as he had been sporting at other recent contests, but what he did bring to Chi-town was a determination to win. The fact that the 2013 IFBB Chicago Pro Champion successfully defended his title is all the more impressive because he won the 2014 contest after recovering from a motorcycle accident earlier this year, which had caused him to miss the Australian Pro Grand Prix (won by IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden), the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships (won by IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf) and the New York Pro (won by IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay, a.k.a. "Big Ramy").
