ANDREW OYE'S AMERICAN GLADIATORS + IFBB PRO ATHLETES ROUNDUP: MR. OLYMPIA JAY CUTLER, IFBB PRO JON DELAROSA, GLADIATOR 'TITAN' MIKE O'HEARN

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes a multi-year Mr. Olympia, a current Arnold Classic Brasil contender, and a former "American Gladiator."
The "So What?": Over the weekend, 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler hosted the 4th Annual NPC Jay Cutler Desert Classic Bodybuilding Championships at the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, where 2013 Olympia Physique Showdown winner IFBB Pro Mark Anthony Wingson was spotted after hosting a seminar. Introduced via a Vegas-style magic trick, where a magician's lovely female assistant "turned into" the beastly built bodybuilder, Jay Cutler delivered an inspiring speech, thanking the crowd in attendance.
"Every year, I see more and more people active in this show. I started bodybuilding over 22 years ago, and my goal was to get on stage like these [competitors]. I never imagined that I would ever get to the level that I've achieved now. Being in Las Vegas for 13 years, I moved here in 2002 from Massachusetts to win the Mr. Olympia title, which I did [in 2006]. That's a pinnacle of a bodybuilding career. That's what everyone strives to do. You saw [special guest IFBB Pro] Ed Corney up here. This guy represents when bodybuilding started back in the days when we didn't have the audience. We didn't have the support. Now, through the generations, this has grown...I see a lot of these [competitors] training with the goal to become better." Cutler (who finally unseated 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman after a long battle detailed in the MUSCLE INK Magazine Champions Series) went on to say that contest awards or placings are less important than achieving the personal goal of competing. "Every single person that stands on this stage is a winner."
For the second consecutive year, IFBB Pro Jon Delarosa guest-posed at the NPC John Kemper Classic Bodybuilding Championships in New Jersey (named for 1987 NPC Masters National Champion Kemper), along with IFBB Pro Akim Williams, and IFBB Pro Juan Morel (who guest-posed last week at the NPC Steve Stone New York Metropolitan Bodybuilding Championships -- named for the departed Stone, NPC Vice Chairman and former co-host of FOX Sports Net's "MuscleSport USA" with IFBB Pro Tom Terwilliger). Formerly known as "Titan" on the "American Gladiators" TV show, Mike O'Hearn guest-posed at the NPC Alaska State Bodybuilding Championships. Prepping for the New York Pro in May, IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino made a nutrition-store guest appearance in North Liberty, Iowa. A week ago, 2014 Arnold Classic Champ IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf took the stage as a guest at a bodybuilding event in Kirov, Russia. A few weeks ago, IFBB Pro Branch Warren hit baseballs at a "Home Run Derby Fundraiser," raising money for a fellow IFBB athlete's medical expenses.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: While I thought Jon Delarosa would be tunnel-vision focused on the Arnold Sports Festival's upcoming IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Brazil this weekend -- especially after his hard-fought 2nd place finish to IFBB Pro Justin Compton at the Europa Show of Champions in Orlando a week ago -- kudos to him for having the energy and confidence to slip in a guest-posing commitment en route to one of the biggest IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series competitions of his career thus far, seeking a ticket to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend against 3-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. (But make no mistake, Jon. IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo, IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, IFBB Pro Marius Dohne, IFBB Pro Lionel Beyeke, IFBB Pro William Bonac, and IFBB Pro Toney Freeman are waiting for you in Rio de Janeiro.)
