  • Together at Last: Simultaneous Muscle Support and Dramatic Fat-Loss

    (posted 10/02/2008)
Vectron™: The first and only protein source clinically proven† to target fat loss and preserve lean muscle mass.

It’s bodybuilding’s ultimate paradox, the contradiction at the very foundation of every bodybuilder’s efforts to attain perfection. You can’t add muscle mass without adding some fat. And you can’t lose fat without sacrificing muscle.

The Las Vegas Convention Center was packed with behemoths, mass monsters, ripped abs, beautiful figure competitors, pretty fitness models, and a slew of muscleheads from across the nation and the world. They crammed themselves in an exposition hall that contained a maze of attention-grabbing booths representing companies that were shilling products and giving away free stuff (supplements, energy drinks, protein bars, T-shirts, fitness magazines, calendars, shaker cups, water bottles and other forms of logo-laden paraphernalia).

    (posted 08/28/2008)
It's no secret that protein is the single most important macronutrient in the muscle-building equation. Therefore, the fi rst and foremost product on any bodybuilders supplement list should be an ultra high quality protein formulation.

Even better, is a precise regimen of specialized proteins to address the specifi c and varying biological needs at different points of the day. • Creatine: What Makes it the Best?

    (posted 08/20/2008)
Quality is a trait that cannot always be immediately observed. For instance, a glass of crystal-clear water at a restaurant that looks pure can have a number of impurities that may compromise your health if taken over an extended period of time. The same applies to creatine. Any “100% creatine” on the market today may look as pure and clean as virgin snow, but unfortunately the harsh reality is that due to inferior raw materials and substandard processing methods some manufacturer’s creatines have more than 5% chemical impurities including, in some, a carcinogenic known as DHT. That makes this highly prized supplement also one of the most highly suspect as regards quality level.

  • Amino Acids: Your best choice for optimum health, growth, energy and focus.

    (posted 08/17/2008)
Virtually every single biological function in the human body requires amino acids and these requirements increase during higher activity levels such as exercise. In the scientific documentaries you’ll hear them sometimes referred to as the “building blocks of life,” and rightly so because these protein constituents are involved in the production of everything from brain neurotransmitters and cell walls, to cartilage, muscle tissue and energy. This comprehensive guide can be used as a quick reference when you’re having difficulty with a certain aspect of your workout routine (energy levels, focus, growth, etc.) or if you’re just looking for ways to improve your overall health and vitality.

  • The Hard, Cold Facts About Nutrition and Proper Supplementation

    (posted 07/29/2008)
Our notions of "diet" tend to be peculiar. We can sit and answer questions honestly and yet we look into the market place and we see some of the most ridiculous ideas getting the headlines. Unfortunately, telling people to eat, healthy, natural foods isn’t quite as "sexy" as introducing a diet with a clever title and a peculiar "hook" based upon binging or deprivation. However, a radical shift is occuring, a shift far beyond the normal scope of the fitness-diet reader and one that will have an unmistakable impact.

  • The Hard, Cold Facts About Fat-Burning and Fat Loss

    (posted 07/29/2008)
The prime cause of the obesity epidemic in this country has been a radical change in lifestyles over the last forty years. Those of us with a trace of gray on the side can remember a time very different from the present. It’s not simply that we eat differently now and no longer appreciate "simple, honest cooking" or that we are rarely involved in passive activity such as walking to the store. It’s everything in our lives. When it comes to fat loss, so many people want to know, "What is the one thing I can do?" Well, truth be-told, the one thing is the whole thing.

  • Breakthrough Myostatin-Inhibiting Mechanism Offers the Key to Transcending Genetic Muscle-Gain Limitations

    (posted 07/28/2008)
Sometimes, a genetically encoded trait can outlive its usefulness. Such is the case with a specific genetic marker that controls myostatin production, the process by which muscle mass increase is curbed and limited in humans. Two million years ago, our human ancestors lived primarily in trees. For this distant forebear, being light and lithe, small and quick, conferred a distinct advantage in terms of foraging for food and fleeing enemies. Those proto-humans who possessed a specific genetic limitation that prevented extraordinary gains of muscle mass were most ideally suited to their environment and place in the food chain.

  • Searching For The Perfect Supplement In An Ocean Of Glitter

    (posted 07/14/2008)
In an ever-expanding sea of choices, what are the best products out there? Thumbing through ads in bodybuilding magazines, it's hard not to notice that so many products have one thing in common — they're all The Best — which makes it virtually impossible to choose. The ads have certainly become entertaining though, comparing users of their product to wild animals or ancient warriors who always get the girl. But if you give in to the gloss, there's no doubt when you hand over your hard-earned cash for these proclaimed miracles you'll be paying a considerable amount for the glitter. And the results you get may be fair at best because, unfortunately, the recent trend for many supplement companies is to trade off real science and superior quality standards for these expensive multi-page ads in an attempt to get attention and bolster profit margins.

  • The Quest for Perfection

    (posted 02/04/2008)
So many bodybuilders, athletes and fitness-oriented individuals, at all levels of accomplishment, have switched to ProSource premium brand supplements. This is not all that surprising when you consider the decline in quality that has occurred recently with many of the major retail supplement brands. Unfortunately, many companies have embarked on missions to cut production costs and increase profits with no regard for product quality. All they seem to care about is their profit margins. It's much too easy for them to "water down" their products with cheap, lower grade materials because that's the quickest way to make more money. On the surface, it can be difficult to recognize a change in quality but over time it becomes evident by the lack of positive results delivered by the products. And they're pulling it off with gusto because too many of their loyal customers don't look past the hype, and by the time they realize their supplements are not working, a lot of money has been wasted.
